Tammi Flora writing as Trenae Evans
Welcome to my site!
Most know me by Tammi or Trenae. For those of you wondering Trenae comes from the initial of my first name which is Tamera and my middle name Renae. I'll be writing under the pen name Trenae Evans. Evans is a family last name (Grammy you will always be loved and missed)!
I am a not yet published writer. I have been on the journey to getting published for a couple of years, even though it feels like I've been writing what feels like my whole life. As most little girls do I started out writing pen letters to some fantastic imaginary friends and my sister who also pretended to be someone else. We wrote to each other about the lovely vacations we were taking as "adults". Then I reached high school age and took a creative writing class which I absolutely loved. Gave me my first taste of making up short stories other people were going to read. Of course "life" had other plans for me and I stopped writing for a few years. In a "getting to know myself again" phase after an interesting time in my life I found an online writing class. I finally felt inspired to write again. I took the online class Romance Writing Secrets taught by multi published author Lori Wilde. Of course it's always different when you start posting online or in a group with a bunch of people you've never met before and hearing their perspectives on your writing. But with the online class, starting a story, and finding amazing support I finally got the confirmation I needed. Writing was one of my life's passions. The ability to give the voices/characters in my head a story and to create something someone else can enjoy as much as I do is truly an amazing feeling.
I have written a few erotica short stories, a spicy contemporary short story and I'm currently working on a couple ideas for full length contemporaries (UIL, MMF) as well as my first paranormal story (SP). I'm super excited and super nervous about my current works in progress.
I have found that networking is as important as the actual writing. Being involved with groups and forums, surrounding yourself with people in the industry you are involved with and finding the support that is needed to be in these tough industries. I belong to a few wonderful online groups and forums. Without these I wouldn't be where I am at with my skill, and as writers know the path to bettering our skill is never done, we are always learning and growing with each of our works.
One of the best finds was my critique partner whom I work great with, also now one of my closest friends. Everyone has a different way they like to critique and be critiqued but I have found the best method for me was a one on one critique relationship. I am very grateful to have found someone who compliments me with work style and critique methods.
If I'm not writing, reading, researching or revising then I'm with family, friends or catching up on some fav television shows.
I'd also like to take this time to thank family and friends for being there for me and others that are no longer with us. Grammy you will forever be in my heart and I will always think of you when I'm writing a romance story.
